Update, July 1, 2026: the access story moved from "restoration announced" to "restored." Anthropic's redeployment post now says access to Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 is restored, and Claude's model picker is showing Fable 5 to users with the same temporary weekly-limit language Anthropic published.
That makes the durable headline narrower and stronger: Fable 5 is back in Claude's product surface, but the exact rollout still depends on plan, weekly limit accounting, usage credits, and cloud-provider availability. A screenshot is a real product receipt. It is not a substitute for the primary source record.
What is confirmed
Anthropic's redeployment post now carries a July 1 update saying access to Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 is restored. The same post says Fable 5 is available globally on Claude Platform, Claude.ai, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork, with Pro, Max, Team, and select Enterprise plans receiving Fable 5 for up to 50% of weekly usage limits through July 7 before it moves to usage credits.
The model-docs trail has also changed. Anthropic's model overview lists
claude-fable-5 as its most capable widely released model and places it beside
Opus 4.8, Sonnet 5, and Haiku 4.5 in the current model table. That is the source
to watch for API IDs, pricing, context-window terms, and cloud-provider details.
The June 12 suspension remains part of the record. Anthropic says the temporary shutdown followed a U.S. government export-control directive, and the June 30 redeployment post explains the safeguard changes and government coordination that led to restoration.
What still needs care
The safe reading is no longer "maybe coming back." It is restored with access terms. Still, staged product rollouts can make two honest users see different model menus for a while. A Claude.ai screenshot confirms a customer-visible surface; it does not prove every workspace, API key, enterprise tenant, AWS Bedrock account, Google Cloud project, or Microsoft Foundry deployment sees the same thing at the same minute.
The weekly-limit language matters too. Fable 5 is not simply replacing every other Claude model for unlimited use. Anthropic says the temporary inclusion lasts through July 7 for eligible paid plans, then shifts to usage credits.
What to watch next
The next receipts should be practical ones:
- Claude docs keep the
claude-fable-5model ID and pricing terms stable. - Claude.ai, Claude Code, and Claude Platform expose matching access language.
- Cloud provider docs show the model usable again with clear availability terms.
- Anthropic posts follow-up notes if false positives, classifier blocks, or usage-credit behavior change after the July 7 transition.
Free public receipts to keep open
The public record is now broader than one screenshot. A useful reader can check the restoration post for the access timeline, the launch post and system card for capability and safety claims, the Fable product page for product language, and the Claude docs for API-facing terms. The pricing page, model overview, and migration guide are especially practical because they are where model IDs, context-window behavior, tool compatibility, and cost language should stay stable after the news cycle moves on.
Status history is a separate receipt. If users see interruptions, missing model menus, or plan-specific behavior, the status record is a better public anchor than a social screenshot. Security analysis can add context, but it should sit after the primary Anthropic pages, not in front of them.
Update, July 3, 2026: Anthropic added a more durable follow-up on Fable 5's cyber safeguards and jailbreak severity framework. That matters because it moves the public record from "the model is back" to "here is the scoring system Anthropic says it will use when a bypass changes deployment risk." For Hugin, that is the source to watch alongside product access: restored availability, temporary usage-limit treatment, status history, and the safety rubric are now separate receipts.
For now, Hugin's posture is updated: Fable 5's return is confirmed. The live work is tracking how access terms settle across the surfaces people actually use.
