FAA orders sealant checks on certain Boeing 787 fuel tanks
The FAA is requiring inspections and adhesion tests of certain Boeing 787 fuel-tank sealant installations after a report that required production inspections were not performed. The agency estimates the directive affects 60 U.S.-registered airplanes. It takes effect December 7 and addresses a potential lightning-related explosion risk, not a reported explosion.
