Labor Department seeks paperwork approval for migrant-worker housing certificates, with comments due November 30
An October 30 Labor Department notice requests OMB approval for a revised housing-occupancy certificate information collection. The notice describes existing inspection, posting and retention requirements for migrant-worker housing; optional Form WH-520 does not make the certificate optional. Comments are due November 30, and the agency's estimate of ten responses is a paperwork estimate, not a count of all worker housing.

FTC pricing inquiry also asks who sees a job offer and how customer payments reach workers
The FTC ordered nine companies to explain how personal data affects prices, job offers and compensation. Its October 28 order also asks how customer payments are divided between workers and company revenue. Responses are due 45 days after service; the inquiry does not establish that any recipient broke the law.

Minimum wage for certain older federal contracts rises to $14.05 an hour, tipped cash wage to $9.85, effective January 6, 2027
The Department of Labor says the minimum wage required on a shrinking set of federal contracts rises to $14.05 an hour, and the required cash wage for tipped workers on those contracts to $9.85 an hour, both starting January 6, 2027. The current rates are $13.65 and $9.55. The notice says the rates cover only certain Davis-Bacon Act and Service Contract Act contracts awarded between January 1, 2015, and January 29, 2022, and not renewed or extended on or after January 30, 2022.
