FCC removes broadcaster workforce-reporting rule after court found it lacked authority to require the data
The FCC's Media Bureau removed a broadcaster workforce-reporting rule effective November 3, conforming its regulations to a Fifth Circuit decision. The rule concerned annual employee race, ethnicity and gender data within specified job categories. The bureau says the reporting provision already had no legal effect after the court ruling, and its removal does not change the scope or nature of currently enforceable FCC requirements.
