Ariston recalls NTI and HTP gas boilers after reports of detached covers and an injury
An October 29 recall covers 4,726 NTI and HTP residential gas boilers, plus 2,261 sold in Canada. A cracked internal dish can let gas collect and ignite, potentially detaching the cover. Lithonia recalls about 11,532 outdoor lights with tilt-arm mounts after reports of fixtures falling
Lithonia Lighting is recalling about 11,532 RSX luminaires with specified adjustable tilt-arm mounts because a mounting knuckle can fail and let the light fall. CPSC's October 22 notice reports 13 mount-breakage reports and four reports of falling fixtures, with no injuries reported. Consumers should keep clear of the area beneath the light and contact Lithonia for a free professional repair.

Costway recalls convertible high chairs without a passive restraint and offers free replacements
Costway is recalling about 3,332 convertible high chairs because a child can slip between the tray and seat, become trapped or fall. The October 22 notice says no incidents or injuries have been reported. Stop using the chairs and contact Costway for a free replacement; the process requires returning the recalled product with a prepaid label.

CPSC warns consumers to stop using Reliancer bed rails; retailer has not responded to recall requests
CPSC's October 22 warning covers about 237 Reliancer adult portable bed rails sold on Amazon. The agency says users can become trapped and die from asphyxiation, and the rails also present a fall hazard. It urges owners to stop using and dispose of them. CPSC warns consumers to stop using PowRyte pressure washers missing plug safety devices

3M recalls about 53,634 Scotch TL1302Z laminators after reports of overheating and fire
An October 15 CPSC recall covers Scotch thermal laminator model TL1302Z sold on Amazon from June 2024 through September 2026. CPSC says consumers should stop using and unplug the machines immediately and contact 3M for a full refund. The company reported 63 smoking, melting or overheating incidents, including five fires; no injuries were reported.

CPSC sets an Oct. 21 virtual hearing for oral comment on its proposed e-bike and e-scooter battery safety standard
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has scheduled a virtual hearing for October 21 so the public can give oral testimony on its proposed mandatory safety standard for lithium-ion batteries used in e-bikes, e-scooters and similar products, a notice on public inspection October 2 and set to publish October 5. The underlying rule, proposed in June, cites 227 incidents tied to these batteries from 2019-2023, including 39 deaths and 181 injuries, by the Commission's own count. Requests to speak are due October 15; written comments already closed in August.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission posted eleven recalls dated September 24, 2026, covering about 197,000 products sold in the United States by the notices' own estimates. Ten of the eleven list Amazon.com as a place of sale, six as the only one. The largest are about 51,000 Blue Cactus Company battery packs for reclining chairs, which can overheat; about 48,405 Kesyup mattresses that violate the federal flammability standard; about 43,674 light-up children's toys with button batteries children can reach; and about 25,073 Aitjunz dressers that violate the federal standard for clothing storage units. NEWDERY power banks, about 21,380, carry the heaviest record: nine reports of the power banks exploding and igniting, including a fire with $2 million in property damage and one burn injury. No deaths are reported. The same day the Commission proposed deeming hazardous cords on custom blinds and shades, and cord loop lifts on roll-up shades, a substantial product hazard, citing 73 cord incidents involving children 8 and younger from 2018 through 2025. Written comments are due November 23, 2026.

Two light-up toy lines with button batteries a child can get at, 425,000 of them, lead the CPSC's September 10 recalls. Also recalled: a dresser that fails the tip-over law, gas ranges that can leak, and SHEIN children's loungewear that fails the sleepwear fire standard.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission posted twelve recalls on September 10. The largest by units after a candy recall covered earlier are two sets of children's light-up toys whose button batteries children can reach: Cade California finger lights, about 179,700 sold on Amazon over eleven years, and ZMC Group light-up toys, an expanded recall now totalling about 245,100. Swallowed button batteries can cause internal chemical burns and death. The same day brought FJTJBSI six-drawer dressers that fail the STURDY Act tip-over standard, AGA and La Cornue dual-fuel ranges whose missing test-port cap can leak gas, SHEIN children's loungewear that fails the sleepwear flammability standard, a busy board with lead in its zipper, and hair-dryer brushes with no protection against electrocution in water. One injury and no deaths are reported across the twelve. Every item has a refund, repair or replacement.

Fourteen recalls in one day: five children's toys, seven products sold only online, and one brand of heated blankets with 577 reports of smoking, melting or burning and 53 burn injuries.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission posted 14 recalls on September 17, covering about 660,000 units sold in the United States. Five are children's products with choking or ingestion hazards, including a magnetic toy set that put two children in hospital and a toddler busy board sold on Amazon, about 276,000 of them. Seven were sold only online, five of those only on Amazon. The heaviest injury record is JKMAX heated blankets and heating pads, about 195,000 of them, with 577 reports of overheating and 53 burn injuries. Sauna360 is recalling some of its hybrid saunas a second time because the first repair did not work. No deaths are reported in any of the 14. Each has a remedy, most of them a refund, and this record lists what to do for each.
